In Berlin, N. y., Jan. 18th, 1875, of scarlet fever and diphtheria, Clarence Gilbert, only child of John Byron and Mary Summerbell Whitford, aged 6 months and 25 days. In this hour of affliction how precious is the sympathy of a friend - of dear friends. Such a friend we find in Jesus: a friend so near as to be "touched" with the feeling - with the feeling of our infirmity. Now, we give to him our babe and to him afresh we consecrate ourselves.
