Albert POLLARD was a War of 1812 veteran, having served under Capt. John K. McIver in the South Carolina militia. His obituary in The Greenville Advocate newspaper (November 21, 1878) includes these biographical details:

"Albert Pollard, father of E. Pollard, died at his son's house in Butler County on the 6th. He was born Oct. 25, 1793, and was a soldier in the War of 1812. He died at age 85 years 11 days.

Youngest child of Joshua Pollard of Virginia (DAR # A063099) & Mary Fort of North Carolina. They raised their family in Darlington, South Carolina.
