Mr. John M. Aymett, 78, died Feb. 17, 1996, at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia following an extended illness.

The native of Giles County was the son of the late Dr. Leonard Aymett and the late Elizabeth Duff Aymett. Mr. Aymett was a retired educator. His early education was in Giles County, and he was a science graduate from the University of Memphis. He served as teacher, coach, principal and supervisor in the Giles County School System. He was an Army major and a veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater. He was personnel manager for Maremont Corporation in Pulaski from 1962 to 1971 when he retired because of an automobile accident.

Graveside services were held Monday at Pisgah Cemetery with Gary Baldwin officiating. Burial was in Pisgah Cemetery. Bennett-May Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include wife Wanda McCracken Aymett of Pulaski; son John Stephen Aymett of Lewisburg; sister Ada Aymett of Pulaski; and two grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Church of the Messiah, Episcopal in Pulaski.
