CURWENSVILLE - Services will be held at Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc., Curwensville, Monday at 11 a.m. for Jean Marie Nelson, 78, a resident of Marion Manor II Personal Care Home, Curwensville, and formerly of Boardman, Olanta RD, who died Friday, May 4, 2007, at the manor.
The Rev. Arlene P. Beechert will officiate. Interment will be at Crown Crest Memorial Park in Hyde.
Friends will be received at the funeral home tomorrow from 6-9 p.m. and Monday from 9 a.m. until the hour of services.
Born Aug. 24, 1928, at Clearfield, she was a daughter of John J. and Elva Jane (Snyder) Rea.
She was Protestant by faith.
Mrs. Nelson retired from Riverside Market after 33 years of service as a cake decorator.
On Dec. 20,1947, at Clearfield, she wed Glenn L. "Sonny" Nelson, who preceded her in death June 2,1993.
She is survived by three children, Glenna J. Hipps and her husband, Frank, Jeffery D. Nelson and his wife, Jan, and Timothy H. Nelson and his wife, Penny, all of Olanta; a son-in-law, Ed Davis of Olanta; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Beulah Malinky and her husband, George, of Olanta and Norma Philips of New Jersey.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Nelson was Preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Davis; two brothers, Herman and John Jr.; and a sister, Geraldine.
