Brent James DeBerry, 27, died Sunday, July 28, 2013 in Abilene, Texas.

Born in Abilene, Texas on November 26, 1985, Brent was the son of Deborah Lynn (Zanchettin) and Jim K. DeBerry. He was working in the oil service industry.

Brent enjoyed sports and was a big Dallas Cowboy fan. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Brent had a contagious laugh and was able to make others laugh. Because people were drawn to him, he could make anyone feel like a good friend.

Brent was preceded in death by his mother, Deborah Lynn Zanchettin DeBerry, on February 13, 2009.

He is survived by his father, Jim K. DeBerry of Abilene; a sister, Kendra DeBerry Goetz of Fort Worth; and one niece, Brynli Goetz. Survivors also include his grandparents, Kenneth and Marion DeBerry of Abilene and Betty Zanchettin of Amarillo; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 2, in Elmwood Memorial Park with Chad Mitchell officiating, directed by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene.

Pallbearers will be Gary Young, Donnie Nelson, Travis DeBerry, Tanner DeBerry, Aaron Ervin and Steve Zanchettin.
