From the Nevada State Journal, Saturday, February 26, 1949, page 2:

MRS. COFFIN DIES AT HER HOME HERE

Mrs. Minerva Ayer Coffin, widow of the late E. B. Coffin and a resident of Reno for more than 70 years, died at her home, 231 West Fifth Street, yesterday afternoon from a heart attack.She would have been 83 years old next June 1.

A native of Concord, California, Mrs. Coffin came to Reno with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Obid Ayer when she was 12 years old and resided here continuously.

She leaves one son, Owen Genty of Reno with whom she made her home and a brother, Leland Ayer of San Francisco. She was the aunt of Mrs. Paul T. Crosby of Reno, John II Jones of Sparks, Charles W. Jones of Carlin, Obid Herbert and Irving Ayer of Reno and Elwood Ayer of Santa Cruz.

Funeral services are being arranged by the Ross-Burke Company and will be private under the direction of the Christian Science church.
