Joseph P. Amisano, former Memphis grocery store owner and operator, died yesterday afternoon in a hospital in Hot Springs, Ark., where he moved from Memphis in 1946. He had been ill a long time. He was 60. Mr. Amisano was born in Alessandria, Italy, and moved to Memphis shortly after World War I. He operated a grocery at Beale and Wellington and was a communicant of Sacred Heart Catholic church before moving to Hot Springs.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Thelma Amisano of Hot Springs, a daughter, Mrs. Paul Ingram of Camden, Ark., and a son, Lt. Italo Amisano of the Army, stationed at Fort Sill Okla.

National Funeral Home is in charge.
