He was married to Mable Rosenbaum Dec. 23, 1933. They spent almost 60 years together. To this union four children were born: Kyle of Mississippi, Lyle of El Dorado Springs, Jean Carol who died at the age of 20 months, and Donald Lee who died August 1963 at the age of 18 years, 7 months.
Clyde was saved during a revival conducted by Bros. Edd Elliott and Bill Burchett at the Excelsior School. He was gloriously saved and lived a true Christian life. He served the Lord to the very best of his ability and answered the call to preach the Gospel December 1953. He preached the Word without fear of favor to man.
Clyde and Mable spent most of their married life in Stockton. They lived on East and Sac streets 48 years. Clyde was a Cedar County missionary for 36 years. He was truly a man who loved the Lord. He served God to the best of his ability. He conducted a number of revivals and saw many people saved. He pastored six churches in Cedar County, one in St. Clair County, one in Polk County, and one in Garland, Kan.
Clyde is survived by his faithful companion, Mable; two sons; daughters-in-law Dorothy and Nadene; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Jaunita Showman of Independence, Georgia Kauffman of Cedar Springs, and Julia Adams of El Dorado Springs; two brothers, Arlie Bough of California and Fred Bough and wife of Stockton; four brothers-in-law and their wives Howard and Opal Rosenbaum, Melvin and Rosalee Rosenbaum, Elda and Marge Rosenbaum and Perl Kauffman; and a number of nieces and nephews.
We will sorrow not as those who have no hope, but we will see Clyde again someday in that city where there is no sorrow nor tears.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 9, at the Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Don Mick conducting the services. Interment will be in Gum Springs Cemetery under direction of Brumback Funeral Home.
