She was married to Clyde Earl Bough on Dec. 23, 1933. They spent almost 60 years together. To this union was born four children: Kyle and wife Dorothy of Longview, Texas; Lyle and wife Nadine of El Dorado Springs; Jean Carol, who passed away in 1943 at the age of 20 months; and Donald Lee, who passed away in 1963 at the age of 18. Mabel also was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde, on June 6, 1993.
Also surviving are three brothers and sisters-in-law, Howard and Opal Rosenbaum, Elda and Marge Rosenbaum and Melvin and Rosalee Rosenbaum; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Mabel and Clyde spent many years in Stockton and traveled through various states in revival meetings and made friends along the way. Mabel was known for her excellent memory. If anyone needed to know someone's birthday or who they married or how many children they had, she knew the answer. She loved to visit with family and friends, always cooking for whomever dropped by.
She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her and thought of her as a great lady.
She was saved during a revival meeting conducted by Bro. Ed Elliott and Bro. Bill Berchett at the Excelsior Schoolhouse.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, in Stockton Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Everett Smith officiating. Burial was in Gum Springs Cemetery under direction of Brumback Funeral Home.
