HANNIBAL - Robert E. Wehrenberg Sr., 82, of Hannibal, died at 7:10 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2002, at his home.

Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 30, at Grand View Funeral Home in Hannibal. The Rev. Ron Wellman and Carl Geisendorfer will officiate. Burial will be at Grand View Burial Park.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Wehrenberg was born July 14, 1919, in Mounds, Ill., to Charles E. and Ida M. Mertz Wehrenberg.

He was married to Alice LaDonne Miller on May 12, 1946. She preceded him in death March 25, 1994.

Survivors include one son, Robert E. Wehrenberg Jr. of Hannibal; one daughter, Linda LaDonne Ashburn of Hannibal; one sister, Flora Cloe; and four grandchildren, Benjamin Scott Ashburn, Megan LaDonne Ashburn, Amanda Marie Wehrenberg and Amy Elizabeth Wehrenberg.
The family wishes to include as survivors, two great-grandchildren, Caleb Benjamin Ashburn and Katie Ann Ashburn.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Frederick Wehrenberg, Paul Wehrenberg and Charles Wehrenberg; and three sisters, Lucille Wehrenberg, Nellie Wilson and Mary Tabbet.

Mr. Wehrenberg moved from Denver, Colo., to Hannibal in 1957. He was the first manager of National Food Store in Hannibal, retiring in 1980. He and his wife were owners of the Barn-Loft Restaurant. He was associated with WTJR TV in Quincy, Ill., where he hosted prayer segments. He was a member of the Missouri and Illinois Archaeology Society. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Hannibal.

Mr. Wehrenberg served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was stationed in South America, the Fiji Islands and Gibraltar.

Memorials may be made to WTJR TV in Quincy.

Pallbearers will be Ben Ashburn, Tom Miller, Mike Miller, Steve Miller, Terry Miller and Shawn Duncan.
