Mr. Stansell was born March 10, 1933 in Villanow, Georgia and worked as a fit-up mechanic for ABB (Combustion Welding) for thirty years. He was an active member of the Gospel Tabernacle in Chickamauga for fifty-five years and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, working on his farm, fishing, and talking about his relationship with the Lord with anyone who would listen. Thurman was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was preceded in death by his parents, Roe & Ethel Stansell, brothers, B.F. & Homer Stansell, and sisters, Dessie Gobie, Dorothy Neal & Vera Ogle.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 56 years, Martha Stansell; son, Michael Payne of Dublin, OH; daughters, Shelva Morrisette of Rock Spring, GA, & Donna Stansell of Gainesville, FL; sister, Montyne Collins of Rocky Face, GA; sister-in-law, Jewel Stansell of LaFayette, GA; eight grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews.
