Greg was a diehard Chicago Bears fans since he was a teenager. He just LOVED football and the weekend would find him usually in front of the TV, watching a game.
He could do a dead-on imitation of Vito Corleone in The Godfather and he could make you an offer you couldn't refuse.
He attended East High School in Des Moines, IA and his friends all had nicknames like Rabbit, Weasel, Buford; Greg's was Captain. After high school, he always dressed in nice clothes; I swear he didn't own a pair of jeans until we got married in 1973.
Greg worked for Firestone Tire and Rubber beginning in high school and worked his way up to Regional Service Manager. We moved from Des Moines to Omaha in 1977 and then to Merriam, Kansas in 1983. He was with them 17 years.
Father of the Jessica (# 22006613), husband of Vicki. Greg died from pneumonia, exacerbated by emphysema. He refused to let me take him to the hospital; I found him dead on our livingroom floor when I returned from work. I knew something was wrong because he didn't answer the phone when I called. His death came only 4 months after the death of our daughter, Jessica.
