William Jennings Adkins, 88, of Kenova, WV., passed away Friday, August 2, 2013, at Cabell-Huntington Hospital.
He was born October 31, 1924, in West Hamlin, WV., a son of the late Elisha M. and Julia A. Bills Adkins.
William was a retired steel worker from Armco and he was a veteran having served in the U.S. Navy.
He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gloria Adkins, one son, William "Billy" Jennings Adkins, II., four brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Sharen Adkins of Kenova and Linda and David Derryberry of Colorado Springs, CO., three grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral service at the Ceredo Church of Christ, with Minister David Roach officiating. Interment in Franklin Cemetery at Branchland.
