Virginia was the wife of Milton Wirt Peters. They were the parents of five children:

1. John Earl Peters
2. Thomas Edward Peters
3. Emily Elizabeth Peters
4. Lewis Milton Peters
5. Virginia "Ora" Peters

Milton and Virginia lived in Egeria, WVA on the Wirt Peters Place, which later came to be known as the Pansey Wood Place.

Milton died in 1908 and in Oct. 1914 Virginia and some of their children moved to Athens, WVA.

In an interview Virginia recalled the Civil War Days with a vivid memory.

On Nov. 1948, at age 90, Virginia was the oldest registered voter of Athens.
