Her gravestone states she was born in 1841 but census records indicate 1845. According to the 1850 census she was 5 years old, born New York, and lived in the Town of Eagle, Wyoming County, New York with her parents and five siblings. In 1860 she was 15 years old, born New York, and lived in the Town of Warsaw, Wyoming County, New York with her mother and three siblings. In 1880 she was 25 years old, born New York, and lived at 1105 Harney street in Omaha, Nebr. with her husband Benjamin Whiteside and their four children. In 1900 she was a widow, born July 1854 in New York, the mother of five children, all living, and operated a boarding house at 107 Seventeenth street in Omaha where she lived with three of her children.

DEATH COMES SUDDENLY TO MRS. WHITESIDE, 74

Mrs. Elizabeth Whiteside, pioneer resident of Omaha, died suddenly at her home, 2702 Farnam street, early last evening. The deceased was 74 years of age and had resided in Omaha for nearly half a century.

Four children, Mrs. William C. Cott, Mrs. Edward J. Highley, Mrs. O. S. Harvey, all of Omaha; and G. W. Whiteside of Salt Lake City; a brother, Gus Carey of Omaha, and a sister, Mrs. Charles Devins of Salt Lake City, survive her. No funeral arrangements have yet been made.

Mrs. Elizabeth Whiteside, 74, a resident of Omaha for nearly half a century, died at her home, 2702 Farnam street, last evening. She is survived by four children, Mrs. William C. Cott, Mrs. Edward J. Higley, Mrs. O. S. Harvey, all of Omaha, and G. W. Whiteside of Salt Lake City; a brother, Gus Carey of Omaha, and a sister, Mrs. Charles Devins of Salt Lake City.

Funeral services will be held from St. Peter's church Friday morning.
