Richard E. Renfrow, 87, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2013 at Mercy Hospice. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Resthaven Cemetery.
Richard was born in Dallas Center, Iowa to Othel and Helen (Cory) Renfrow. He farmed in Indianola and moved to Adel in 1969 and worked at Lennox Industries. After retirement he worked as a custodian at Adel Elementary School and First Christian Church in Adel. He later drove a school bus for the ADM School District.
He is survived by a son, Jeffrey (Kelly) Renfrow of Johnston; daughter, Linda (Ron) Hesselink of Adel; three grandchildren, Jill (Dale) Lallier of Johnston, Dyan (Mike) Raso of Davenport and Alissa (David Gerken) Renfrow of West Des Moines; three great-grandchildren with a fourth to arrive in December and best friend, Nancy Keenan of Grimes. He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce of 56 years, and his sister, Thelma Lynch.
