Suffolk - Hertie Ellen Parker, 88, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2013. Born on December 13, 1924, she was the daughter of O.T. Holton, Sr. and Bessie Kirby Holton. Hertie was married to the late Charles Clayton "Buck" Parker, Jr.
Survivors include her daughter, Cynthia Parker Wightman of King William, VA; two sons, Charles C. Parker, III of Rustburg, VA and Steven Wayne Parker of Suffolk, VA; brother, O.T. Holton, Jr. of Chesapeake, VA; 12 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. "Nannie" loved them dearly and called them "Shuga Buga". We will carry her memories with us always. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel on Thursday, Aug. 8, from 1 to 2 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel followed by burial in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens.
