Robert served in the US Army from 1942 to 1943. He worked as a Purchasing Agent for Continental Rubber Works in Erie for over 30 years, retiring in 1982. Upon retirement, Mr. Bailey formed Bailey Industrial Sales. He was a long time active member of St. George Parish and did volunteer work. His favorite activity was gardening.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Joseph, Edmund, Howard and George Bailey and a sister, Elizabeth (Sr. Rosa Mystica) Bailey.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Margaret Gabrielson Bailey (married April 15, 1944); six daughters; six sons; 32 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, a brother, Francis and his wife Annabelle of Buffalo, N.Y., and many nieces and nephews.
Entombment in Gate of Heaven Mausoleum.
