Frederick Clair was driving a 1997 Ford Explorer north on I-69 at about 11:53 p.m. when he ran off the road near Old 27 in Tekonsha Township, MI and the SUV rolled several times upon re-entering the highway, according to the Calhoun County Sheriff's Office.
Frederick Clair was pronounced dead at the scene. Caril Fugate-Clair was airlifted to Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI and remained in critical condition Tuesday night, police said.
The Clairs were married 24 June 2006.

He was recently awarded the Dick Hagemeyer award for 45 years of weather observations. This award was established in honor of Dick Hagemeyer(1924-2001) whose career spanned 51 years with NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration).
