Services for Mrs. Edith I. George, 76, formerly of 1031
Amity Street, who died Saturday in Wernersville State Hospital, will be held on Wednseday at 1:30pm. The Rev. Paul. Kehm will officiate in the Gibson and Sanders Funeral Home. Burial will be made in Laureldale Cemetery. Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Henry & Mary (Hartman) Rauenzahn. Her husband, William George died in 1934. Mrs. George owned & operated a confectionary store at
Amity & Mulberry Streets before retiring 1st November. She
also maintained a postal sub-station there for over 20 years. She was a member of the Minyah Court, Oriental Shrine, & of the auxiliaries to Tall Cedars of Lebanon, & DeMolay Commandary, Knights Templar. Mrs. George is survived by 2 daughters, Doris, wife of Howard Leiphart of Shillington, & Willai E., wife of Jack Lavers of Glenville, Calif.; 2 sons, Harold J & Donald W., both of Shillington; 6 grandchildren, & a sister, Dorothy, wife of Edward L. Griffith, of Reading.
