She died suddenly at Lutheran Hospital in St.Louis, MO of Thyroid Cancer due to being treated to large doses of radiation with the newly invented X-ray machines for Tonsillitis when she was a child. She was a big Cardinals Fan and listened to Harry Caray every Saturday evening. She worked as a Typist for Browns Shoe Company and never missed a day until her cancer was discovered around January 26, 1962. She died on February 23, 1962.

She was a avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals with Harry Carey as the announcer.
