Howard H. Sandow of Saginaw, Michigan, was called home to his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 6, 2013, from the Kindy Foster Care Home, Midland. Age 93 years. Howard was born on October 22, 1919, in Saginaw, to the late Ferdinand and Anna (Wietfeldt) Sandow. He married Dorothy L. Wietfeldt on February 14, 1976, and she survives him. Prior to his retirement in 1955, Howard was employed as a machinist at A.T. Ferrell for 30 years. He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church where he was a faithful worker. He unselfishly gave of his time and money to help others. Surviving besides his wife, Dorothy, are several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. A special "thank-you" to Barbara R. Smith and Lance Smith for their loving care they gave to Uncle Howard. Howard was predeceased by his brothers, Arthur and Lawrence Sandow, and an infant sister, Ruth. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 10, 2013, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 600 Court St. The Rev. James F. Krueger will officiate with burial in Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 N. Michigan Ave., on Friday from 4:00 to 8: 00 p.m., then at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be given to Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
