Obituary:
Howard H. Bergold, once again together with his beloved Jean, died peacefully, in the presence of his daughter at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, WI. on February 26, 2005. He was born May 20, 1920 to his parents Charles and Minna (Otto) Bergold.

He was a charter member of First Trinity Lutheran Church. A 1938 graduate of Marinette High School, he worked odd jobs until he joined the United States Army Air Corps in 1940. He was at Hickam Field when the Japanese bombed it and Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.

He married Orpha Jean Bryant of Kentucky. After the war, they returned to Marinette where he was employed by Scott Paper Co. When he retired, he was the head pipefitter. He was a proud member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Assn: the VFW and St. Michael's Amputee Support Group. He enjoyed gardening and helping his daughter with projects. Although besieged by many physical problems, he remained upbeat and optimistic. His "gotta do" attitude was a source of inspiration to his family and friends.

Howard is survived by his daughter Sharon; son-in-law Michael Matusinec and a brother Charles Bergold. He was preceded in death by his wife and three brothers: William, Lawrence and Harold.

Friends may call at Hansen-Onion-Martell Funeral Home after 11:30 am on March 5, 2005. Funeral service will be held at 2 pm Saturday Afternoon in the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery of Marinette.
