John was born on January 29, 1920 in Redwood Falls, the son of Frank and Angela (Ferrell) Fox. He graduated from the Farm School in Morris, MN. He was a life-long resident of the Franklin area, farming there until 1982 when they moved into Franklin. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a trustee of his church and received the Bishop's medal for service. He was a member of the Fairfax VFW Post #8459. Military rites were conducted by this Post. John Fox and Alice Allen were united in marriage on January 27, 1951, in Franklin.
He is survived by his wife Alice, and son Bob Fox and wife Karen of Franklin and a granddaughter, Laura Fox. Also surviving are brothers and a sister, Sister Rosanne Fox of St. Paul, Ed Fox and wife Joan of Franklin, Father Robert Fox of Poplar, MT, Bill Fox and wife Mary Jo of Minneapolis and Jerry Fox and wife Toni of Inver Grove Heights. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret Mary Fox and a sister, Mary Pelky.
