GLEASON -- A 35-year-old Gleason mechanic was died early Sunday morning from injuries received in a single-car wreck, according to the Jackson office of the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
The Jackson dispatcher said Frankie Mitchell Garner was fatally injured about 4:30 a.m. when his vehicle turned crossways to the road on Old U.S. 22 north of Gleason, skidded off the pavement and struck a culvert.
A passenger, Janice M. Davis, 22, of Gleason, was treated for injuries at Volunteer General Hospital in Martin and released.
Graveside services for Mr. Garner, a Navy veteran of the Vietnam war, were today at Oak Grove Cemetery near Dukedom community. Bowlin Funeral Home was in charge.
He was born in Gleason, son of the late Robert S. and Thelma A. Potts Garner.
There are no immediate survivors.
