Bessie Evalene Herridge was the second born of eight children on May 8, 1916 to James Walter Herridge and Eva Lydia Huston Herridge in Bluff City, Kansas.
Bessie had five sisters and two brothers ~ Jennie Herridge, Ruth (Snyder), Dorothy Herridge died at two years and five months, Maurice Herridge, Juanita (Hudson), Almeta (Huntley-Fortmeyer), Cecil Herridge died at birth with his Mother Eva.
Bessie married Virgil Smith on April 12, 1936, they were blessed with one beautiful daughter Vondell. Bessie married W.J. "Bill" Wilmarth November 6, 1958, in Guymon, Oklahoma. She lived in Panhandle, Texas and Perryton, Texas, from 1936-1948 and then moved to Liberal. She moved to Stevens County and returned to Liberal in 1991. She was a bookkeeper at Anthony's for several years. She was a member of Lady Elks No. 1947 in Liberal and bowled in the Liberal Ladies League for many years. She was a member of Rebekah Loge in Panhandle. Bessie love growing beautiful flowers and gardening. Bessie has one Daughter Vondell Griffin and husband Shirley R. "Griff", of Mesa, Arizona, and one step-daughter, Shirley Burnett and husband Tom of Elkhart. You Are So Loved And Miss By Family And Friends.
