A lifelong Memphian before moving to Wilson, Ark., about two months ago, Mrs. R.E. Blake died at her home there at 8 yesterday morning. She was 60 and suffered a stroke about two weeks ago. Services will be held at the Methodist Church at Wilson at 11 this morning. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery here. Born in Memphis, Mrs. Blake was educated at Idlewild School at the old Sale-Pimm Institute, and was a member of an early Tennessee family. Her father, the late William Dallas Cannon, was a former Shelby County sheriff. She was the wife of Robert Erskine Blake, an employe of the Wilson Co. in Wilson, Ark. She leaves her husband, Mr. Blake; a son, R.E. Blake Jr. of Jonesboro, Ark., and two granddaughters, Flo and Janet Blake. (Published in The Commercial Appeal, Memphis, TN, on November 15, 1950)
