The tombstone is no longer readable. His tombstone is next to the stone of a Hannah Hatfield, not sure who she is, d. 7 Oct. 1824, 23 yr. He is my 4th g grandfather. Our family "memoirs" state he wanted to be " buried up on the hill so he could watch the rafts float down the Susquehanna". He has a beautiful resting place to do just that.
He was married 3 times.
1) Sarah Patton, b. 10 Feb. 1756, d. 21 July 1788.
2)Elizabeth Cochran d. 29 Jan.1793.
3)Nancy Berryhill d. 29 Aug. 1850. John and Nancy Berryhill married 9 Oct. 1794. They are the parents of Enoch Supplee Hatfield (my line) b. 9 o'clock in the evening 7 Nov. 1810, d. 26 June 1857.
John is the Son of John Hatfield, b. 1717, and Catherine Supplee.
