Charles moved with his family to York Co North Dakota in Oct 1904 his wife Sally Huddleston passed away leaving him with four children to raise. He moved back to Keokuk co Iowa to be near family.

The story is told that sometime in 1905 Charles went to town one day to get supplies and never returned.. the children were split up between family members The youngest daughter Sylvia Myrtle was adopted b a family with the last name of Coy.

No one ever heard from him again....but many years later through the internet and plenty of research tools.. He was discovered ...he had moved to Arkansas remarried and helped his new wife raise her children from a previous marriage.

It is a total mystery why he just left his children and life.. possibly the stress of losing his wife?? we will never know...
