Judy Baughman Emig, 75, of 3420 Mercer Road, New Castle, passed away the morning of October 10, 2012 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Born in Chambersburg, PA, she was a daughter of Roy J. and Grace Kegg Baughman.
She married Joseph Emig on June 7, 1957.
Judy was employed much of her working career as the secretary to the Dean at Westminster College. She then worked at the Lawrence County Court House in the court administration office.
She enjoyed traveling to the West and spending time in the Rocky Mountains.
Judy liked baking for others, gardening and the outdoors. She had a great love for people. Often she wrote letters of encouragement to those in need.
Judy was a nursing home volunteer who will always be remembered for her amazing spirit, generosity and compassion.
She was a member of Word of Life Church in New Castle.
In addition to her husband, Joe, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law; a son and daughter-in-law; a daughter-in-law; and five grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, David Emig, a daughter-in-law Pamela Emig and one sister, Janice Gwin.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 12, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road.
A service will take place on Saturday, October 13 at 11:00 a.m. at Word of Life Church, located in the St. John's Lutheran Church building at 2601 Highland Avenue, New Castle. Rev. Ted Saad will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, in New Bedford.
Memorial contributions may be made to Increse International, a ministry that mentors and trains pastors in Latin America.
