SOMERS, Conn. -- Mrs. Lois A. (Gowdy) Abbe, 73, of Maple Street, Somersville, former Enfield and Warehouse Point teacher, died Tuesday in Manchester Memorial Hospital.
A native of Enfield, she was a graduate of Enfield High School and Willimantic Normal School. She was a member of the Somersville Woman's Club, Somersville Congregational Church and Enfield Grange.
Besides her husband, Earle L., she leaves a son, Alan D. of Somers; a daughter, Mrs. Ellen M. Niederwerfer of Windsor; a sister, Mrs. Verna Hurlburt of Stafford Springs and her father, Louis A. Gowdy of Somers. The funeral will be today in the Somersville Congregational Church. Burial will be in West Cemetery. Somers Funeral Home is in charge.
