Fern Glasgow Dunlap, 94, died January 30, 2007 from natural causes. She was a resident of Oakland for 60 years. She taught elementary school in the Piedmont Unified School District for 25 years. She was a member of the Nefru-Ari chapter of the Daughters of the Nile and was first lady of Aahmes Shrine temple in 1978. She composed over 100 songs, many of them published. She is survived by her husband, William Dunlap and by her two sons, David and James Dunlap, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A chapel service will be held at Chapel of the Chimes, 4999 Piedmont Avenue, Oakland at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 7, 2007. .
