Obituary 18 October 2002 (Age 98) The Union:

Visitation for family and friends of Tommy R. Bartsch of Camptonville will be from 10:30 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Grass Valley. A rosary will be recited there at 10:45 a.m., followed by a celebration of Mass at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Camptonville Cemetery in Camptonville.
Mr. Bartsch died Monday, Oct. 14, at home. He was 98.
He was born July 4, 1904, at her family's ranch in Camptonville to Richard A. and Anna L. Bartsch. He attended schools in Camptonville. He married his first wife, Zada Mae, in 1935 and his second wife, Ruth, in 1953.
He was a rancher, worked in timber and gold mining, and was a state trapper. He enjoyed hunting in his younger years, and raising tomatoes and photographing deer in his older years.
He is survived by his first wife, Zada Mae Bartsch-Hedger; their nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his second wife, Ruth Bartsch; her four children; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters and brothers; children Anna Fern Dorris, Tommy R. Bartsch Jr., Verna Mae Thomas and Larry Lloyd Bartsch Sr.; and grandchild Karen Elizabeth Dorris-Orzalli.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
