"Gene"
Salt Lake City, Utah-Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, Gene Ballard, passed away on August 9, 2013. Gene was born to Norman W. Ballard and Leah O. Johnson on July 29, 1931. He married June Nadell Stott on December 22, 1950, later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they had 5 beautiful children, Sherrie (Sherm) Drebing, Ron (Jeanne) Ballard, Mike (Susie) Ballard, David (Tammy) Ballard, and Diane Lee.
Gene so loved his family which includes 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. He was a devoted friend and neighbor to all he knew. Gene would have given the shirt off his back.
He is survived by brothers, Shirl and Dick (Joyce). He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 grandchildren.
The family would like to give special thanks to IHC Hospice (Melissa, Rebecca, Pearson), Jonathan Vellinga, MD, and also to Steve and Ginger Coonradt for their love and caring for Gene.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 14, 2013, 12:00 p.m. at Hyland Lake Ward, 981 E. Revere Circle, Murray, with a viewing prior to services from 10:30-11:45 a.m. A viewing will also be held Tuesday, August 13th from 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street, Murray. Interment: Murray City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations for funeral expenses. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.jenkins-soffe.com
