Charles married Laura Lucille Knotts in 1939. They had one son, Ronald Dean McNally. They divorced in 1940 and Laura went on to marry Albert Sellers. Charles then married Doris Edith Martin of England. The couple met in New Zealand while Charles was in the military and they married in there in 1944. They had one son, Wayne Rodney McNally.

Doris died in New Zealand on October 30, 1994. It's believed that she never remarried. Her burial place is unknown.

Charles E. McNally, 58 died unexpectedly Thursday evening at his home, Austin Rt. 1. He was employed at the Cedar Valley Rehabilitation Workshop. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Hazel Mlinar, Spring Valley; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday.
