Leona L. Koehler age 93 of Waconia died Sunday February 19, 2012 at the Hidden Creek Assisted Living in Chaska.
Memorial Service held Tuesday February 28, 2012 – 2:00 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia, MN with Rev. Phil Wagner officiating. Visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment in the Union Cemetery in Mound.
Leona Lydia Koehler was born March 12, 1918 the daughter of Edward and Emma (Bethke) Loeffler in Rockford. On November 18, 1933 Lydia was united in marriage with Gottlieb Koehler. The couple had rented many different farms before settling in Delano. After suffering the death of her husband Gottlieb in 1972, Leona moved to Mound. Leona was a devoted homemaker and had worked for others doing house cleaning.
Leona enjoyed fishing, cooking, flower gardening and bird watching. She cherished her time with her grandchildren. Leona was a member of the Waconia VFW Auxiliary.
Leona is preceded in death by her parents Edward and Emma Loeffler, husband Gottlieb Koehler, brother Charles Loeffler, sister Edna Strehler.
Leona is survived by her loving family, sons and daughters-in-law (names were removed to protect privacy); as well as other relatives and friends.
