Graveside services for Paul M. Ballard of Grass Valley will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Greenwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Grass Valley.
Mr. Ballard died Wednesday, Feb. 27, in Grass Valley. He was 71.
He was born July 25, 1930, in Salinas to Merwyn C. and Velma E. (Hicks) Ballard. Mr. Ballard graduated from Hollister High School in 1948. He served in the U.S. Navy as a machinist's mate, 1st class. Mr. Ballard was a member of the Boilermakers Union Local No. 549 for more than 32 years. He was a member of the Grass Valley Elks No. 538 for more than 24 years and a member of the American Legion Post No. 130. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors.
Mr. Ballard is survived by his sons David M. Ballard of Redding, Mark A. Ballard of Sacramento and Timothy P. Ballard of West Sacramento; and four grandchildren.
