Knudtson, Lydia Marie (Hyry) MOUNT HOREB -
Lydia Marie (Hyry) Knudtson, age 86, died peacefully at home on Sunday, Aug. 14, 2005. She was born April 24, 1919, in New York Mills, Minn., to Levi and Hannah (Hendrickson) Hyry. She was united in marriage to Milo Cordell Knudtson in Chicago, Ill., on April 12, 1941. He preceded her in death in 1996. After several years in Chicago, Ill., they moved to Forward area of Perry Township, where they farmed together for about 25 years. After farming, they continued working together at UW Hospital until retirement. Lydia was a member of Perry Lutheran Church. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family. She especially delighted in her 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She also touched many with her kindness and sweet personality. She is survived by her children, Howard (Louise) Knudtson of Green Bay, Helen (John) Kahl of Mount Horeb, Linda (Ralph) Ovadal of Monroe, and Jim (Dana) Knudtson of Stoughton; her daughter-in-law, Kathy (Gerry) Brock of Blue Mounds; her grandchildren; great-grandchildren; her sister, Irene Brigham of St. Anthony, Minn.; her brother, Ronald Hyry of Robbinsville, Miss.; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Clifford Knudtson; her grandson, Daniel Kahl; her sister, Esther Agresto; and her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2005, at PERRY LUTHERAN CHURCH in Daleyville with the Rev. Hans Floan officiating. Burial will be at the Perry Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2005, at the ELLESTAD FUNERAL HOME, 500 N. 8th St., Mount Horeb.
