Mildred Leona Kelley, 86, of 1112 Anne Ave., formerly of 1431 Ohio, entered the presence of Jesus and the reunion with her many loved ones gone before her at 8:15 a.m. Friday (Sept. 27, 2002) in the home of her son and daughter-in-law.
Born Aug. 16, 1916, in Pike County, Ill., she was a daughter of Hiram and Elizabeth Vanhynig Constable. She married Thomas "Lewey" Kelley Aug. 27, 1937, in Palmyra, Mo. He died March 11, 1986.
Survivors include a son, John Kelley and his wife, Ines, of Quincy; a son-in-law, Charles Martin, of Mahomet, Ill.; four grandchildren, Misti Budde and her husband, Craig, of Macomb, J. T. Kelley of Quincy, Elizabeth Martin-Irvin of Mahomet, and Darin Reinberg of Phoenix, Ariz.; two great-grandchildren, Victoria Martin-Irvin of Mahomet and Ashley Reinberg of Phoenix; two sisters, Hazel Leeds of Quincy and Myrtle Shrewsberry of Barry; a devoted friend, Patsy Garrett of Barry; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Shirley D. Martin, who died May 19, 2001; two sisters, Mary Utterback and Helen Lawber; and five brothers, Jim, Floyd, Charley, Walter and Clarence Constable.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. today in the Parklawn Cemetery in Barry.
Visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Blessing Foundation for Hospice or to WTJR-TV.
In celebration of her life, Mrs. Kelley requested that all of her family and friends take their family out for dinner together.
