Chink was my Grandfather and I am sorry that I never got to know him. One of my cousins said:
Comments from Charles (Chuck) Propes - son of Woodie H. Propes
I never heard of Chink being an oil worker but he took all kinds of jobs to keep the family going. He was a big man with big hands that wore expensive boots and hats but got his clothing form the navy surplus store usually Khaki pants and shirts because they got ripped up so much. He would go out and dig cisterns for other ranchers when the kids needed shoes or school supplies.
He was only famous to those who loved him, and from the way my cousins talk - that was many.
