Gladys LaRue Chapman, 82, of Chaffee died Sunday, Aug 8, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born July 18, 1917, at Bloomfield, daughter of Richard and Eunice Kidd Scism. She and Billy S. Chapman were married April 6, 1938.

Chapman had been a housekeeper for Montgomery Mobile Homes a Blomeyer and Cape Girardeau. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

She is survived by three sons, Norman Chapman of Cape Girardeay, Kenneth Chapman of Gordonville, Larry Chapman of Bridgeton; two daughters, Margaret Heuring of New Hamburg, Sharon Bowen of Gordonville; 17 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, two grandchildren, three brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Watis Harrell officiating. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park at Advance.
