Johannes (John) Graves, 103, died Thursday at Sacred Heart Care Center.
He was born Sept. 29, 1896 at Kalundborg, Denmark. In 1926, he immigrated to Minnesota, where he worked in the mechanical division of the George A. Hormel Co., until his retirement in 1960. During World War II, he served with the Minnesota State Guard. He was a member of the Danish Brotherhood. An avid reader, he spent much time at the Austin Public Library, and he also enjoyed traveling.
He is survived by grand nieces and nephews.
Services: 2 p.m. Monday at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Kris Wee officiating.
Interment: Oakwood Cemetery
Visitation: Friends may call for one hour before the services at the mortuary Monday
