EDINA, Mo.—Doris Elizabeth Pruett, 82, of Edina died Thursday afternoon (Jan. 20, 2005) in the Knox County Nursing Home in Edina.
Born March 5, 1922, in Knox County, she was a daughter of Charles Cleveland and Maude Ellen Cheatum Raymer.
On March 16, 1940, she married Kesther Tommy Pruett in Edina. He died July 1, 2001.
Mrs. Pruett received her education in Knox County. She was employed by the Wells-Lamont Glove Factory in Edina for 45 years, retiring in 1984. M.r and Mrs. Pruett were engaged in farming east of Edina before moving to Edina. Then in 1998, they moved to Canton to make their home. For the past several months, Mrs. Pruett has resided in the Knox County Nursing Home.
Surviving are two daughters; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three sisters, Dorothy Ann Wheeler of Edina, Mildred Pyles of Licking and Betty Jo Parrish of Knox City; several nieces and nephews.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Charles and George Raymer; and a sister, Margaret Jean Smith.
Services will held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina. Burial will be in Greensburg Cemetery in Greensburg. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
