Descendant of Early New England and Early French Canadian Ancestors and Original Settlers of Detroit Michigan, Leo Marshall Kingsbury was the son of Marshall Zachery Kingsbury and Julia Marie Lawson (Lauson).

His Mother, Julia M. Lawson was born 20 Sep 1861 in Detroit, Michigan and died 8 Jan 1900 in Detroit, Michigan when Leo was about 10 years of age. She was the daughter of Francis W. Lawson (Lauson) and Magdelene Maria Cicotte. Julia M. Lawson was buried at Mt. Elliott Cemetery in Detroit, Michigan. Her grave is unmarked Lot 495 Section 69.

His Father, Marshall Z. Kingsbury died 13 June 1912 in Detroit, Michigan. Marshall Z. Kingsbury m2) Margaret M. Klotz. He is buried with his 2nd wife at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Detroit, Michigan. Their graves are also unmarked. His grave is Lot 146 Section 35.

Leo had a sister, Magdalena Leona Kingsbury, and two brothers, Charles Benedict 'Russell" Kingsbury and Warren Rudolph Kingsbury. Additionally he had one half-sister, Gertrude A Kingsbury and a half-brother, Mello Kingsbury who both as children died of diphtheria in 1904. He also had two other half-brothers, Aelred Josiah Kingsbury and Melvin Edward Kingsbury.

Leo Marshall Kingsbury m1) Gertrude Florence McNally, daughter of James McNally and Martha Brown, on 22 Apr 1915 in Rochester, Monroe, New York. They had two children together, Leo Marshall Jr who died as a toddler, and James Kingsbury. Leo & Gertrude were divorced.

Leo Marshall Kingsbury m2) Alma Theodora Miller, daughter of Jacob F. Miller and Anna Marie Spielman, on 10 April 1926 in Bowling Green, Wood County, Ohio. They raised 14 children together.

Leo and Alma Kingsbury migrated from Detroit, Michigan to Jacksonville, Illinois, then on to Corpus Christi, Texas in the late 1940. Following retirement he and Alma removed to Los Angeles County, California to live near several of their children.

Alma T. Miller-Kingsbury died on 14 June 1973 and is buried with her husband.
