Wanda Jean "Jeanie" (Garrett) Witte, age 78, of Montgomery City, MO, passed away August 1, 2013, in Boone Hospital Center, Columbia, MO.
Jeanie was born December 9, 1934, in Jonesburg, MO, a daughter of Emil D. and Normae Mae (Benney) Garrett.
Visitation was held from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, August 3rd at Pitman Funeral Home, Jonesburg, MO. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, August 4th at the United Church of Christ, High Hill, MO. Burial was at Jonesburg City Cemetery.
Jeanie had worked in child care. She was a member of the First United Methodist-Presbyterian Church in Montgomery City. She enjoyed following the St. Louis Cardinals, Missouri Tigers and Montgomery R2 Wildcats. She collected owls and buttons.
Survivors include two sons, Terry L. (Linda) Witte of Vandalia and Kerry D. (Karen) Witte of Waynesburg, PA; two daughters, Linda F. (Roger) Hans of Jonesburg and Lisa G. (Gene) Tuma of Wellsville; a brother, Lawrence R. "Pepper" (Ruthie) Garrett of Jonesburg; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Carol Witte of Jonesburg and many nieces and nephews.
Jeanie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Herman C. Witte, Jr., an infant brother, Bobby Garrett; two other brothers, Donald (Martha) Garrett and Karl Garrett; a sister, Margaret (Bill) Wescott; and a brother-in-law, Donald Witte.
