Alice Verl Brady, age 96, a 70 year resident of Las Vegas, died peacefully at home Dec. 27, 2006. She was born Dec. 5, 1910, in Fountain Green, Utah, to Hyrum N. and Alice Ostler Hansen. Her mother died when Verl was only 12 years old. Being the oldest of seven children, she was then required to assume many adult family responsibilities. For this reason she was unable to accept a scholarship to Snow College upon high school graduation. She married Feurman John Brady, Dec. 11, 1929, and both lived to celebrate their 76th wedding anniversary. Feurman passed away Dec. 30, 2005. For 50 years she belonged to a ladies' weekly bridge club of retired teachers, business women, and women who were either wives of political figures or were themselves active in civic affairs. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as YWMIA teacher, Primary teacher for over 15 years, and Relief Society secretary for six years. She excelled as a wife, homemaker and mother, and is deeply loved by her family. She is survived by her daughter, Alice Myers (Merlin deceased); sons, Neil (Susan) and Bill (Cindy) Brady; 14 grandchildren; her 29 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Rachel Syme of Fountain Green, Utah, and Dora Spencer of Bountiful, Utah. According to Verl's wishes, private family services were held, and interment was at Palm Mortuary-Northwest.
