Claude W. Medley, 57, of 716 Cleveland St. Wabash Railroad Conductor and WW I Veteran, died at the VA Administration Hospital at noon Saturday Jan 12, 1952. Born Mar 19, 1894 in Moberly, MO he was the son of Zachery and Minnie Medley. He came to Danville at the age of two.
Surviving are his wife Bonnie and daughter Mrs. Eleanor Davis, both of Danville, three grandchildren and a brother. One sister preceded him in death.
He was a member of the Jewell Whyte Post 728, Veterans of Foreign Wars. During World War I he served for more than two years as a medical corps private with the 28th Infantry Division.
The body was taken to the Johnson funeral Home for services at 4 PM Tuesday with the Rev. Harold Berger officiating. Graveside rites will be in charge of the VFW. Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park.
