Norman E. Apple, 81, widely known retired Rush County farmer, died at his home in Orange Township, one mile west of Moscow, Sunday at 2:00 p.m. from a complication of diseases. He had been in failing health for the past year and his condition had been serious since Thursday. Mr. Apple, had lived at the home where death occurred since 1876, was born in Decatur County on December 6, 1872, the son of Philmon and Mary E.(Kelley)Apple. On December 12, 1902, he was married to Elsie Ficklin who survives with a daughter, Mrs. Alice McGibbons of Waldron. Also surviving are two granddaughters and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Apple was a member of the Moscow Christian Church where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Burial in charge at the Carmony Funeral Home in St. Paul, will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the late home from 7:00 this evening to 9:00 a.m. Wednesday and after that at the church.
