Abraham - Cecile Olivia Lonergan Abraham, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2007, at Slidell Memorial Hospital. Beloved wife of Francis T. Abraham, Jr., (married 52 years). Mother of 2 children: Alan Abraham and Leslie Abraham Paternostro. Mother-in-law of Seeta Pooran Abraham. Daughter of the late Maurice Lonergan, Jr., and Cecile Olivia S. Lonergan. Sister of the late Maurice A. Lonergan, III. Also survived by 4 grandchildren: Marc Abraham, Ryan Abraham, Andrew Abraham, and Leah Paternostro, also many nieces and nephews, and her best friend, Betty Jacobi. Age 76 years. A native and long time resident of New Orleans. Resident of St. Tammany Parish for the last 25 years. Parishioner of the First United Methodist Church of Slidell. Graduate of The University of Southwestern Louisiana and received her Master's degree from Loyola University New Orleans. She proudly served for 31 years as both Teacher and Principal in the Orleans Parish Public School system. She was the first assistant principal of Marion Abramson Senior High School, Principal of Wilson Elementary, Livingston Middle School and Little Woods Elementary. Prior to her retirement, her efforts as Principal of Little Woods Elementary lead to accreditation with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools - an honor reserved for the highest achievements in the field of Education. She inspired her family and friends, those around her, and touched the lives of countless students and Teachers during her distinguished career. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral. Services at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), Slidell, LA, on Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. Rev. Wybra Price, II, officiating. Interment in FOREST LAWN MAUSOLEUM. Visitation on Wednesday after 9:00 A.M. until funeral time. Arrangements by Honaker Funeral Home, Inc., Slidell, LA.
