He was employed at Massey-Harris 10+ years and Twin Disc for 28 years, retiring in 1985. He spent many hours doing odd jobs for anyone who asked. He was happiest when he was helping out family, a neighbor, a friend or a stranger who quickly became a friend. In lieu of money he always said "I work for Food". The microwave was his best friend. He was an outgoing and devoted member of Saint Lucy Catholic Church. He was an amazing woodworker spending hours in his Doghouse building and handcrafting many items. He shared many of his creations with his family & friends and donated many to his Church. He was a huge Harley Davidson enthusiast and owned a 1946 Harley-Davidson, which he purchased when he came out of the service in 1946. He rode it in many parades over the years and took his last ride on it when he was 91. Charlie loved traveling with his wife in their Suburban and travel trailer and did many family vacations across the country. Florida was their popular winter destination. He loved spending summertime up north, which became his home in his remaining years. He was a huge camera buff and never left home without one in his pocket.
